only rookie named to the all star game this year.

first red wings rookie to be named since stevie Y.

looks like my new larkin jersey is going prove to be a solid investment 10 years from now.

Hopefully, but does anyone out there in San Diego know what hockey is?

it's not the midwest, northeast or canada but hockey is a pretty popular sport out here. probably has something to do with the ducks and kings but there are a surprisingly large amount of kids that play hockey. let's face it..... you have to have money to play (gear/league fees/league travel/etc) and there are a lot of people here with midwest/northeast/canada roots that have money and their kids all play. there is a surprising amount of talent here. we love to go watch the Gulls.

A poor man's Yzerman...

If they can pull off the Stamkos trade while still keeping him...

No, thus far he is every bit as much an Yzerman, just a little different.  Now if he can sustain it is another question.  What happens after Z retires, will Larkin still be able to put up those numbers (mostly +/- numbers though)?  I'm not sure.  My best friend who lives in SoCal asked me last year if everything that he was hearing about Larkin was true.  He has some pretty high-up clientle who work for the Kings who dropped some tid-bits in his lap about Larkin.  Of course I said yes but I thought he needed another year at Michigan.  Yep, I was wrong.  Now that view might have been skewed for selfish reasons but I was wrong, wayyyy wrong.  What Larkin is doing in the NHL is unreal.  The Wings need to get the next Probert and fast to protect him.

The Stamkos rumors interest me although I haven't heard anything about Larkin going anywhere.  Mantha is the crown jewel in that deal from what I heard but yes Tampa wants a lot.

Basically you can call what Larkin is doing the Berenson effect.

I'd do that trade in heartbeat! Nyquist has hit his ceiling, and as long as Larkin and Svechnikov are not part of the deal.
