Nice road win for the Hawkeyes after a tough start to their season.

They needed that. Iowa offense is predictable.

Thanks 'shoes, and you are right fish.
Nice little turn around for the hawks. 3 Turn overs but so did minny. They cut their penalties down and they held Minny way below their avg per game rush totals. Held them to about 100 rushing, with a long of 11 yds. That is a huge turn around from giving up 189 per game.
They reorganized the offensive line, moved the L tackle to right side and moved a guy over to left tackle, it worked. They rushed for close to 200 which was way above what they've been doing.
Still Beathard isn't very mobile, I think he's playing injured (again). The WRs' are pedestrian. More talented younger guys but they don't get to play until they can block (sigh).
Happy for you guys. I'm watching UM play tonight, they look top 5 to me. I remember the bad old days on MLive when the posters were pulling their hair out with Lloyd Car and then there was RR. Now you guys can sit back and simply enjoy high caliber play.

I think we are a top flight QB away from winning it all, but we have a lot of strengths. Can't afford another injury to O-line though.

I agree. Although that throw to Chesson while on the move was beautiful.

And with a soaking-wet (and thus slightly heavier) ball, in a driving rain. Chesson's catch was equally beautiful.

hey Hawk- congrats on another road win today. I've gone from fearing you guys in November to relaxing to being concerned again.

'shoes, this is what every Iowa fan is thinking of right now when we think of playing UM at night in Kinnick.

That game still worries me. Black out, possibly cold weather, on the road. Iowa is playing better. A lot can happen.

I'm old enough to know full well how tough it is for Michigan to win at Kinnick. There are times when I have thought they WERE the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Nice sentiments by Fish and 'shoes, but JH has your team on a razors edge. This game may be tight for a quarter.
However Iowa is thin at the following:
Safeties Linebacker D-end wide receiver
And Beathard...somebody stole his mojo.
I'll add a conspicuous absence of innovation on offense.
This maybe the first hostile environment UM has played in this year....but most Iowa fans are pretty deflated.
I'll rake the leaves, oh wait its at night, I'll wear a head lamp.

Yeah, I posted that before PSU stomped a hole in them on Saturday.

I enjoyed the days when both UM and Iowa were pretty good in the same season - - and played each other.
Not a big fan of having so many teams in the league - some teams you rarely play.

Timothy is quite a trip.
I too miss the Big Ten actually being 10 teams and playing everyone, or almost everyone, every year. Don't think those days are coming back though.

Use your Math degree, 'Shoes. The conference now operates in HEXAL (not HEXADECIMAL) instead of DECIMAL. In the Base Six number system, "14" is ten [in decimal]...eh?
(Yep, it indeed is a slow day...)

Oh Boy Mike! lol. All I would like to know is 10-0. That would be a good start.
I want the game to start! I m really excited to go to Iowa City!

My degree wasn't in math Mike though I did enjoy the classes I took in symbolic logic which were somewhat math like.

Joe (and anyone else making the trip)---have a great time in Iowa City. I'm leaning more and more toward the side of Nick and the other MLivers who pick a comfy victory...though perhaps not as comfy as 35-7 (Nick's pick).
I'll say 31-14. And we maintain a lead of at least 10 throughout the second half.
Playing in horrible conditions on the road didn't faze us an iota at Rutgers. True, Rutgers isn't Iowa...but Iowa isn't all the much better than they this year. And it's supposed to be dry all evening in I.C. tomorrow.

Iowa's offense has been punchless. The D isn't bad, but the D gets worn out.
So I don't see why Iowa would score 14 points. More like 3 or 9
Iowa's punter has been a bright spot. The kid is a graduate transfer from ?Eastern Michigan. He is a master of putting the ball inside the 20 or 50 yard punts.
You know its bad when the punter is the playmaker. This gives UM a longer runway and opportunity for more yards #stats.

Eastern is known for their punters, they get a lot of practice....

Hawk, if all the game tonight involved was athletic young bodies, I would have picked Michigan 45-3 or so. But it does not.
It also involves young minds, emotions, and psychology...for Iowa, night home game, pride, etc.
Which is why I feel it will be more competitive than most people think.

mid 2nd quarter . So far I'm a bit surprised. But Iowa's O ...... oh oh oh.
We're crazy watching Iowa on 3rd and short come out 2 tight ends, 2 RB and run and get stuffed.
