PostSubject: A deep thought...   A deep thought... EmptyMon Aug 28, 2017 7:24 am

I have not heard a single thing mentioned, from any outlet (MLive, ESPN, name it) about this...but what are the chances the game vs. Florida is even PLAYED Saturday, in light of Harvey???   True, Dallas is well-inland of the Gulf Coast, but CNN says the city's already setting up "mega-shelters" in anticipation of FEET of rainfall (cumulative---already rec'd and still to come).

Anyone on this board live in or near the Lone Star State, and thus have some information relating to the above?

BTW, it's totally irrelevant that I share very few convictions/beliefs with the "average" Texan:  my heart and thoughts go out to them all.  Terribly tragic stuff, what I've seen on TV and the web...

I don't think Dallas will have much impact from the storm itself, but could get a lot of people.  I would think that San Antonio would get more, it is closer to Houston.  The Alamo dome could be used.  I 100% think the game will be played as scheduled.

Good point (about the Alamo Dome). And not too many logistical problems, either, given that the teams' flights to Dallas could still take place, and if the rain has saturated Texas Stadium's turf too badly, a sub-hour flight to S.A. could be arranged, I'd think.

Lived in Dallas for 5 years, it is a long way away. Not a logical shelter point and unlikely to be impacted much weather-wise.
