Jim Harbaugh extension YEA or NAY. I am a YEA only because I have no idea where we would turn from here, and I would hate to see him go to the NFL and do well

no
I like Matt Campbell at Iowa State and I also like Brett Venables at Clemson. Also a guy that has had some off field issues that are behind him is Steve Sarkisian. I would definitely entertain that thought.

multiple reports swirling around that he will get a 3 year extension within the week. This is mainly to help shore up the recruiting class and help calm any uncertainty recruits may have.
Also, the few articles I've read say that Jim is structuring the contract to pay well if the team performs well. Essentially he is betting on himself and the team. I personally like incentivized contracts but that said, I'm ready to move on.

Wholesale changes needed in the coaches imho ... as for the recruits , unless things change drastically on the field next year , I foresee many transfers if they indeed stay in the class !

heard venables enjoys being a DC, no aspirations for HC. I have a feeling there is disfunction at Michigan. something isn't right and I think it goes beyond JH. If thats true, then its not a good job to take.

Disfunction? Meaning AD down? Warde seems to be on team Harbaugh so I'm not sure that is the issue.
IMO the culture is the problem. What I mean by that is the culture of the player makeup. I've said it before that Michigan needs to recruit more guys with bad intentions. More Devin Bushes. More Jabrill Peppers. Still high caliber players but guys with bad attitudes.
To get off my point for a second I fully believe that the problems we see on the field now, FOR THIS YEAR, stem from the lack of quality DBs. The D issues have spilled over into the O. I'm not saying that Milton and the Oline and the loss of key players all around haven't been part of the problem because they have but I think the offense is starting to gel a lot more with Cade and yet the D is still a mess, especially the DBs. The D was always built on man play but you can't do that with terrible DBs and for some reason the team doesn't work well in zone.
I also understand that it's awful hard for a first year QB with limited experience to manage a game and clock and play well in a possession football environment and I also understand that's a lot be expected but it's not like Michigan doesn't have high caliber recruits across the board. Basically I believe that if you're playing the inception game the DBs are root. Their poor play have led to the Defense being on the field too much, the offense having to play from behind too often, too many penalties, poor field position, etc.
Anyhow back to the culture. It's time for Michigan to start recruiting kids that aren't smiling in their player profile. I know that sounds broad and ludicrous but it's time that UM starts recruiting players with chips on their shoulders. I know traditionalist UM alumnus may not like the character of the product on the field but I guarantee they will like the results.
Michigan needs to start treating the program like a business because whether they like it or not that's what it is.
Kids with immense talent that come from highly questionable backgrounds.
Kids that can play hard and win games at Michigan.
Kids that under the right tutelage can become respectable men off the field.
I promise you.... all of that can be true. the question is do you want to win bad enough to accept the risk.

eggo, I think the corners have done well since the indy game. They are growing up.
The REAL issue is a defensive line that is terrible. No pressure. How many games have we had 0 sacks. Defensive backs can only be good for so long and then they lose contact. Opposing QBs are sitting there picking us apart. We lost 2 all big-ten players. And we knew nose would be a big problem. We're terrible there.
We've only caused something like 3 turnovers. That's because of pressure. How many strip-sacks? Zero. all year long.
So, I agree but add onto your comment.
*edit* Just looked and we have 9 sacks. About 1-1/2 a game. Brutal. I think there are single players that have that many out there.

to be honest I think a good portion to me appear to be lack of practice, just like Trumps appeals I have nothing to substantiate that but, lack of tackling , being in the wrong place and missing coverage, all seem to be a prolific part of the demise of winning.

Problems all around that's for sure.
In related news what does everyone think of the reports that Jim has been offered a highly incentivized contract extension? Five NFL teams have come to Warde to ask about Jim so I think it's just time to move on.

I just don’t see what changes for the future of the program if he is intent on keeping the same staff ... as well as not letting the OC whoever it may be to coordinate
