To a man, Joe, I'm not sure we can point to ANY ONE PERSON as THE leader (save of course for coach Howard).  ALL the men seem to feed off one another, whether from the bench or from elsewhere on the court. All seem to pull for each other, and equally important, COMPLIMENT each other (in the LOGICAL sense, though I'm sure there's plenty of 'back-patting' too).

Chemistry is this team's No.1 talent, though as individuals they're certainly replete with it, too.

But sticking to point, if I HAD to pick one man as the "looked-up-to" leader, I'd agree with you: Isaiah is as good a choice as any...

The cell phone video from the locker room after the Wisconsin win, in which Coach Howard awarded the game ball to Chaundee Brown after he had scored 1 (one) point- though it happened to be his 1,000 pt in college, was both telling and gratifying. Coach praised his work and hustle and attitude (and his defense is always stellar), and then the reaction of his teammates, showed how together this team is and what a great leader Coach is.

I'm gonna have to find that. I haven't seen it yet.

Don't worry I goy thick skin, especially when I deserve it. To be honest this is how I expected him to play. clearly has the ability to carry this team, and when he plays like this he can make huge difference to this team.

Is Livers the cog that makes the machine run? Sure. But I just saw a postgame interview with Hunter and he made a good point. When opponents try to double team Hunter it never turns out well for them. This is  one of the the things  that happened in the Badger game.

UM has 5 guys on the team that will play pro weather it's the NBA, G league or overseas. You just can't double Hunter because it leaves guys like Livers and other open to spark a run.

Livers is undoubtedly the leader but there are a few other things going on in the game that allows him to provide that spark. I can't think of a game that he just took over by himself without a scheme helping.

IMO Trey Burke was the last player we had that could take a game over by himself alone.

I think this is a good topic for discussion.

By leader I am not really talking about points or even the ability to take a game over. I'm talking about the motivational and mental leader.

After games they interview Juwan and a player. The majority of the time that player is Livers. He's the one that they follow in the huddle. His eyes are glued on Howard and so are all the rest of them.

It's really an impossible thing to "prove" lol.

Livers is also an excellent interview. His communication skills are high.
