Big time player announces tonight

Tarris Reed is announcing at 7 tonight.

One of the biggest things about him is that the teams he is considering are all B!G teams. So getting him also means MSU, Purdue and ohio do not.

#90 nationally but everyone agrees he is better than that.

We are becoming a basketball school.

he isn't going anywhere woody. He picked Michigan for one reason and one reason only... Juwan.

Juwan was actually his lead recruiter. He's a big man and Juwan played big man at the highest level at all levels. And we've seen it two years in a row, Juwan can develop a big man. There is no doubt about that.


The interesting thing is going to be how UM and the buckeyes finish down the stretch. they have a really good class right now (#1 overall) but I think Michigan will probably have room for 3 more (maybe 4 with the draft and seniors leaving).

With the recruits they are in on and the season that I think they are going to have I think UM has a real shot at getting the #1 class again. In fact I'm predicting that they will.

Agreed, he is likely to stick to his current preference, all because of Juwan. A big kid wanting to learn how to play at the next level would have to be an idiot to reject the opportunity.

I know your feelings about "commits". I don't see decommits happening in basketball like in football. I mean obviously once or twice but it seems like when these kids commit they stay.

exactly. If anything they open their options to play professionally. These kids cant legally explore their pro prospects (fully) without losing eligibility. A lot of times they commit and realize the pro option is the better route. I can't think of a recruit that flipped on UM basketball in recent years.
