gattis leaving for Miami

Don't a lot about his story other than he was a good young recruiter. his play calling was pretty MEH run right run left, had some good trick plays, but ooks like he is ready to be a head coach and it wasn't there I don't know how Michigan was not appreciative of him other than saying he might not be the next in line.

There are apparently some rumors out there about some improprieties on his part. Think we may have dodged a bullet with him leaving.

Interesting shoes. The post I saw said he thought Michigan done him wrong.

The past week or so showed the present apparent mess in the football program. Harbaugh leaves on signing day assuming the Viking Job is his and plans to sign. Then no offer. Possible candidates are present staffers Gattis and Hart. This creates possible conflict between the two. Harbaugh returns and is at UM “as long as they want him and will have enthusiasm like never seen before. (What happens if NFL ever calls again?). Now both coordinators are gone and Gattis makes a lateral move leaving very bitter statements about the football administration. Is Harbaugh losing it? It’ll be interesting to see what changes happen in the next few days and what possible new O and D philosophies develop.

The story is that Gattis made inappropriate sexual advances to a recruits mother on the recruiting trail and that he was the pulled off the road for 10 days by the administration. This may be related to a story from Chris Balas that he was not in line to be head coach if Jim left and that he was behind Mike Hart among internal candidates.

This doesn't prove anything but it would be consistent with him leaving for a lateral position at a lesser school which I doubt can pay him what we were.And it would be consistent with his text to players that one should not stay where they are not appreciated, which by the way could almost be considered tampering/ a suggestion to them to enter the portal.

Thanks for this info, Shoes. I haven’t heard it, but if true, good riddance. But the vicious statements about UM he made could be in response to what you mentioned.
