It's not really a curse, Michigan did it to themselves. If Coach Carr wasn't pressured to resign after 2007 then the Rich Clod disaster would not have happened. It was true though, we all knew it. No one could believe that he actually said it though.

great post shoes , I was never a big RR guy but seems like Hoke is getting a pass for the same things that RR was getting blasted for , shitty OLine play , no running game , QB regressing and loyalty to shitty assistant coaches

No- that 3 year stretch was not "fine." There was improvement each year however. Our trajectory for this regime is going in the wrong direction. Are we better or worse than we were in 2011?

Odds are Michigan will finish 9-3 this year, maybe 8-4 which would not be good. It's not worse though. But when you start at 3-9 it honestly isn't that tough to improve, it's not hard to improve upon 5-7 either...

In Coach Hoke's first year he had the very small remains for Coach Carr's final class (pretty much) so he had an O-line and a somewhat capable D when using a scheme that isn't asinine (GERG). Coach Hoke also still had Denard. Yes he had Denard last year too but a much tougher schedule. I guess that could be considered an excuse but it's realistic IMHO. Am I satisfied? No, but I'm also not looking to draw & quarter Coach Hoke. Borges is a different story but you don't fire him until after the season IF you do. I think that he is out of chances but he does still have 5 more opportunities to rectify the situation (and yes he must do it ALL five games to receive slack- something that I don't think he can do but if he does he might have a job in A2 next year).

I still highly disagree, Coach Hoke gets it (Rich Clod never did). Coach Hoke has a defense, Rich Clod never did. Even when he inherited a decent/good defense no attention was paid to it which resulted in 3-9. Coach Hoke has 3 Freshmen on the O-line, Rich Clod didn't. The loyalty to poor assistants is an issue though....
