He gets a lot of credit, but it's still Urban's system. Urban made Alex Smith a #1 pick for goodness sakes.

Urban's system yes.... but don't think Urban spends everyday developing the QBS though , I think that has been Herman

and Mullen is doing pretty well as well ... not all Urban but he knows how to surround himself with top assistants ... all the top coaches usually do .... BO certainly did

I'm not saying he won't be a good head coach, I'm just saying that most of the credit should go to Meyer. Mullen took a long time to get the MSU ship winning big.

Well, I'm glad he's out of Cowlumbus. Also glad he's not in BT.

I'm with Fish. I don't expect this to affect OSU's offense in the slightest looking ahead.

Urban Meyer made Tom Herman just like he did Mullen. OSU will be a juggernaut as long as Meyer is there. Dude was Sporting News and Sports Illustrated coach of the decade in 2009 and he is only 50. Health problems will be the only thing to stop him.

yep and also if he gets to the point that he doesn't have a solid QB to run his offense. then he'll make up/extremely over blow his health issues again.

not saying he's not a good coach but he wasn't tricking me any.

IMHO his "health issues" was a way to get out of his contract at Florida, he then had to wait a year so he coud go to o$u. He's shady, just like that whole cess-pool down there. urban is a very good coach though...

His "health issue" was a roster that wasn't very good at that time.

well I'm not saying Meyer didn't have health issues. In fact I'm sure that he most likely did. He was rumored to have had a heart attack during the 2009 season (see link below) but never told anyone. Call me a skeptic but I personally find it hard to believe that you could have a heart attack mid season and nobody would find out, especially when you're the head football coach of the most powerful program in the nation (at the time).

So again, while I do believe there were health issues, I believe those health issues were minor at the time and he used those issues to weasel his way out of Florida because his program was starting to go downhill and he knew it and he wanted to jump ship and save face at the same time.

That's also not say that I don't think those minor issues could have turned into something much worse. I definitely think they could have but, I also think he overblew it to use it as an excuse because he knew his ship was sinking. That's all.

OK, I thought it was because of all the criminals he had on the team that was giving bad publicity to the school & the coach.
