| I have told this story before, but I have a few OSU friends. One, who went to school during the Earl Bruce days told me that every year after the bowl game, there would be a big sale of stuff from the players from the game. He bought a jersey at the sale (at one of the dorms) and then asked if he could get another jersey and was told it could be arranged. The second jersey was procured and he bought it a few days later. My friend knew the money was going to the players and saw nothing wrong with it just as he saw nothing with the Tressel situation.
My point here is that this has been going on at OSU for a long long time and to think that it is not communicated to recruits as in- "hey we have extra sources of income here" by current players is naive. This to me is an impermissible benefit and an advantage. There is also nothing that says the players only get tats- they get cash as well. Remember when AJ Hawk's apt was robbed when he was at OSU and he reported $4,000 in cash stolen? Did you know any college students that had $4,000 in cash lying around? I didn't.
