Horribly disappointing result yesterday and being there was great for while.... and then it wasn't. I was with a 30 years younger Michigan fan wh hasn't yet become as (somewhat) de-sensitized to the heartbreak as I have been. The only tiny silver cloud I could come up with was this:
We weren't a true NC title contender, and therefore suffering the first loss wasn't as bad as it was in 2016 or even 2018, when I thought we might have a legitimate shot. If we can beat IU, PSU and Maryland, 10 wins would be well above my realistic expectations for the year (not going to mention the other opponent). We would get a good bowl assignment which we might well have a reasonable chance of winning.
I did say it was a "tiny" silver cloud.
