I actually have no problem with the portal. Coaches can move any time they want so......
I have one problem with the portal but it's something that I think hasn't come to fruition yet but I believe it's a problem that is on the horizon.
For now everyone loves the portal. It's helping make teams competitive across the board right now. I don't think that will last long.
Eventually, teams that recruit at a high level like Clemson, Bama, Georgia etc they will just push out their 4* kids that didn't pan out and attract 2*, 3* and 4* kids that did. Those kids are the kids that the Iowas and the Wisconsins of the world have depended on to stay competitive and those kids won't be there. they will get recruited to and move on to better teams.
People think the sole reason is that kids transfer for playing time when that's not really the case. There will be a time in the next 5 years where the rich are just that much richer and there will be less balance in the leagues.
in 5 years there won't be that 2 win Michigan State team that hits the portal in the offseason and competes for a NC the following year.
I wrote a post on another site a few years back on how I'd address the talent gap across the teams in CFB. Now that the transfer portal exists I'd have to update it. Maybe I'll find it and post it here and let you guys read it and see what you think.
