Does Cade being voted to be a Captain by his teammates

impact his chances of winning the starting QB job? Does it make it tougher to go the other way if it is perceived to be close?

Cade is starting game 1 and JJ is starting game 2. Harbuagh will evaluate from there but given the level of competition in the first two games I'm not sure what we're going to see. If both QBs hold onto the ball, sustain drives and put lots of points on the board (which I assume they will) then where does this put UM at game 3? Starting one for a game and the other for the next game accomplishes nothing IMO. Other than maybe getting JJ the confidence of starting a game.

drew/tom worked and I think cade/jj will work but I don't think splitting starts over the first two game will identify a clear cut starter. that's the point I was trying to make.

I had another thought about this.

Jalen Hurts led Alabama to the title game. (They might have even won.)

Saban replaced him with Tua Tagaviola (sp) I wonder if people went nuts? Tua took them just as far and farther.

I have seen ND change QBs from a popular one to a younger one.

Other have done it.

If JJ is really better and can lead us farther then we need to start him.

With that said, Cade is awesome at keeping turnovers down. It is hard to gauge that talent.

JJ can do more. He is physically more gifted. I have no doubt. But will he keep the ball safe?
