In my prime (what's that, umm, 73 years ago?), namely the late 70s, I did...Bubba Paris.
One of the biggest players Bo ever recruited...something like 6-8, 284 as a
sophomore!
Had a solid career at U-M at tackle, helping our lovable(?) bowl-losing expert Bo to back-to-
back bowl wins in 1980-81 (Rose over Wash., Bluebonnet over UCLA). And good NFL career
as well...largely with 49ers.
Funny story Bo related in "Bo" (the book), about how "This true freshman tackle, Bubba Paris,
expressed his desire for early PT." Bo explains in 1978, on an unusually-hot mid-October day,
we hosted Northwestern (who back then was a perennial 1-10 joke), and had the ball con-
stantly. "We ran like 80 plays on offense. And he was in FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE!"
Afterward, when Bo was lauding "a totally-wasted" BP his efforts: "I want to play, coach.
But not THAT MUCH."
Hehe!!!
