Michigan High School Football starts today

Good luck to all of the Varsity football teams who begin their seasons tonight and in the coming days!

Wish I could get up to AA tomorrow to see Shane play at Pioneer.

Kinda cool playing a HS game across the street from the stadium you'll be playing in the next 4-5 years.

Indiana started last week. Buffalo Wild Wings is broadcasting the Fishers HS vs Hamilton Southeastern this Friday on the big screen. The last two state winners.

Should be a good game.

Yeah that should be a good game. What classes are those two schools in?

I played 5A ball. Always had Penn in our sectional (which sucked big time).

My alma mater got smoked last weekend by our cross-town rival. Watched it online. It was pitiful.

Nice i will be in AA tomorrow so if i can get in I may go watch Shane play

They are in 5A. Sorry, Carmel won it last year by defeating Penn 54-0. HSE beat Fishers in the playoffs, but lost to them in regular season. 2010 Fishers beat HSE in playoffs but lost to them in regular season. Maybe losing the regular season game is a good thing in this rivalry. The high schools are only about 5 miles apart.

Things have definitely changed in Granger since Geesman left the program in 2004 or so. They're still one of the top programs in the state, but it's no longer Penn vs Ben Davis every single year to decide the championship.

Speaking of Penn, Greg Mattison's son went there while Matty was coaching over at Notre Dame. Bryan Mattison...went on to have a pretty solid career at Iowa. He was a monster at Penn, needless to say.

Shane is playing at Pioneer tomorrow night? I move to A2 tomorrow. Looks like I have something to do tomorrow night. What time is kick-off?

I'm not sure when kickoff is, but I'd plan on getting there AT LEAST an hour before kickoff. I'm willing to bet it will be an absolute CIRCUS over there.

Think about how many locals from A2 will be there just to see the kid?

Hell, how many UofM students might make their way over there?

A lot of us IU kids went and saw Jordan Hulls play when he was in HS (because he played at one of the Bloomington high schools), since he was coming to play hoops for the Hoosiers. Then he went on to win Mr. Indiana Basketball and has been draining 3s for us ever since.

I didn't make it. Holy sh!t I am beat. Still not completely unpacked but I'm here. I love this area but it feels strange. Well, it's most likely just being in a new place...
