I don't know the validity of this, and it may have been mentioned during the game, but I had heard that Alabama coaches had spent time at MSU this summer learing how to prepare for the Michigan offense and how to contain DR. Is this a typical practice? Do teams from the Big Ten usually assist teams from other conferences in preparing to play other Big Ten teams?

I have not heard much about it so I am guessing that it is not that uncommon, but it seemed odd to me and would certainly not be in the interest of the success of the conference.

I also heard something about that. The rationale that I heard was that Nick Saban was a coach at sparty but we all know that dumbtonio just utterly hates Michigan. Just reinforces the theory that sparty doesn't care what they do, only that Michigan loses.

It does seem like it is destructive for the conference but I bet these coaches share information all the time....at least i hope so. nonetheless it's still pretty shitty of dantonio if he went out of his way. did we get w/any SEC coaches? I would hope so and you would think some of their coaches would be jumping at the chance to screw bama -that's how it is down there.

That is 100% bullshit.

That information was posted on Mlive by AZ and nowhere else. He was asked for proof and would not provide any.

It's crap.

Yea I don't see it. Coaches have big egos and I do not see many of them going to other coaches and asking for help. I think Saban and staff are more than capable of breaking down film and finding weaknesses themselves. I am sure MSU was one of the games they looked at.
