Hand looked at how Michigan has regressed this year. His choice could well be an indictment of Hoke's poor assistant coaches, Maybe we need to lose a few recruits to make it clear to the boss that changes must be made, regression will not be tolerated.

I can't really blame him for choosing them. In a lot of ways, it seems like an easy choice. I don't think it's the end of the world though. Our last two classes were really strong, you don't need to have a great class every year. What really matters is whether they can coach the recruits they've gotten the last couple of years. Jury's still out on that.

Good luck to him,always thought it was a longshot when Bama became heavily involved, and as much as Mattison is a great coach, the lure of playing for NCs and Saban was always going to be the deciding factor

That's just athlete speak. Blue chip recruits like to give lip service to academics but it's rarely much of a factor. It's the same way with pro athletes when they sign with a new team--they often say it's not about the money, when we all know it's always about the money.

I think you guys are letting your frustration blind your judgement. I believe Hand when he says academics are important. Just this week his coach said as great as a football player he is, he is an even better student. He went on to say he is the type that will play on Saturday and then will be right back in the library on Sunday.

The reality is a Alabama degree is not a bad thing. Sure Michigan is a better school but it's not like no one will hire him with a degree from BAMA.the way some of you are talking it sounds like he is foregoing school to play football. He will still get a good degree and now he will also play for a NC every year.

As upset as I am about his decision I can't fault him.
