Changes needed

Regardless of the outcome today the university needs to make a move and get rid of Brandon now and possibly hoke, and name nuss or mattison interim to finish the season. This is just horrible to watch.

I'm way past the 'need to make a move' phase. This is almost unbearable to watch in my 40+ years of watching Michigan.

Keeping things as they currently are is not going to help the program moving forward.

Sad thing is Borges is probably laughing his ass off at this circus. Hoke has done worse every year he doesn't need more time to screw this up anymore

I hope the regents wake up and say enough is enough...start cleaning house if they want to keep that stadium full.

When is the next home game?  I would be surprised if they reach 100,000 after this game.

I don't know much about the coaches before Harry Kipke, but Hoke is unquestionably the worst Michigan football coach in the last 80 years.

The announcers are bashing the shit out of Hoke and Nuss over how bad they handled Morris before they finally took him out.  We all know that Hoke has the sick philosophy of making them finish the game, regardless.  Remember Funchess in the 4th quarter of the ND game???

I think the next game is Penn St, a night game, so it will prolly be sold out, but after that, not so much

I thought Michigan was a descent JV team but after today maybe freshman football would be more like it. Brady gotta no he's a dead man walking now after this fiasco. The defense was gassed.

Michigan would owe Hoke $3 million if the school fired him before January. The buyout in his contract drops to $2 million Jan. 1. The school paid Hoke a $1.5 million "stay bonus" this past January and has invested $12.26 million in him in his four years with the program.

if he gets let go tomorrow or on Jan 1, the remaining balance is to be paid in monthly installments. So they should still be able to afford to open the wallet for a top tier coach.

A lot of media outlets are reporting that Michigan definitely prefers John over Jim Harbaugh at this point citing "stability moving forward" as the main reason.

Nobody is confirming, or even speculating for that matter, whether or not John has been contacted (either through official or back channels)

In 2010, after giving it serious thought, John said at the time that the timing just wasn't right for the move to Michigan but the last thing he told Brandon was to remember him if Michigan was ever looking again.


Any bets on John H being the next UM coach?

I would accept that, I still would like to see hoke hone tomorrow and an interim coach for the remainder of the season. Maybe that person could unite this team and win a few games.

John has been my pick for a while now, so I am all in.  I just think he is a lot less volatile than Jim, and I don't feel he would be looking to go back to the NFL right away, if ever.  I understand the concern about recruiting and all that goes with being a college coach at UM vs not having to go through all of that in the NFL, but I think if he is willing to at least show his interest, then he has thought about that part of college coaching and would be fine with it.  

To me the interesting part will be Mattison.   Would he consider staying if John H is hired or, would John H even want him to stay if he is hired?

And....give him the $$$$$$ if that is what it takes!!

Two things. "unnamed source" and "is not expected to pursue the job". So, is the "unnamed source" Herbstreit, and it doesn't say he will not take the job is it is offered to him!!
