Michigan travels to take on Ohio State in the 111th edition of "The Game." Considered by many as the greatest rivalry in sports, the Wolverines and Buckeyes are meeting for the 97th straight year, which is the seventh-longest active uninterrupted series in FBS. The 111 meetings are tied for 14th in FBS history.

• The Wolverines have allowed nine points, and zero touchdowns, in the first half over their last three games.

• Michigan's defense has allowed opponents to score a touchdown on 47.37 percent of trips inside the red zone (18-of-38), the second-lowest percentage in the Big Ten and tied for 14th lowest in the NCAA.

• U-M ranks first in the Big Ten and second in the NCAA with an average of 3.45 penalties per game, and the Wolverines' average of 31.18 penalty yards per game is second in the conference and fifth in the country.

• The Wolverines rank fourth in the Big Ten and ninth in the NCAA in total defense, allowing an average of 301.8 yards per game. That total includes 107.2 yards of rushing defense, which ranks fourth in the conference and ninth in the nation, and an average of 194.6 yards of passing defense that is sixth in the Big Ten and 23rd in the country.

• The Wolverines rank third in the Big Ten and 13th in the NCAA with an average of 4.61 yards allowed per play.

• Michigan is holding its opponents to an average of 2.94 yards per rush, which ranks third in the Big Ten and seventh in the NCAA. The Wolverines have held six of their 11 opponents to an average of 2.5 yards per carry or less.

• U-M's nine rushing touchdowns allowed are the fewest in the Big Ten and tied for the seventh-fewest allowed in the NCAA. The Wolverines have allowed four rushing touchdowns on the road, the third-lowest total in the conference and tied for ninth lowest in the country.

• The U-M defense's 79.0 tackles-for-loss rank third in the Big Ten and tied for 18th in the NCAA. That total is the program's highest through the first 11 games of a season since 84.0 in 2006.

• The Wolverines' 55.0 tackles-for-loss and average of 7.86 TFLs per game in conference games are tied for first in the Big Ten. U-M's 246 tackles-for-loss yards in conference games are the most in the Big Ten.

• Michigan recorded 12.0 tackles-for-loss vs. Indiana, the highest by a Big Ten team in a conference game this year and the Wolverines' highest single-game TFL total since registering 12 on Sept. 15, 2007, vs. Notre Dame.

• U-M has allowed 12.0 sacks in Big Ten games, the third-lowest total in the conference.

• The Wolverines are tied for fourth in the Big Ten and for 10th in the NCAA, allowing their opponents an average of 16.3 first downs per game.

MICHIGAN-OHIO STATE CONNECTIONS

• Twenty-three Michigan student-athletes hail from the state of Ohio.

• Michigan wide receiver Jaron Dukes attended Marion Franklin High School in Columbus, Ohio.

• Ohio State cornerback Damon Webb attended Cass Tech High School in Detroit. David Dawson, Delano Hill, Delonte Hollowell, Royce Jenkins- Stone, Jourdan Lewis and Terry Richardson also attended Cass Tech.

• Michigan linebacker Mike McCray, Wolverine defensive back Reon Dawson and Ohio State defensive back Cam Burrows are Trotwood, Ohio, natives and attended Trotwood-Madison High School.

• Michigan safety Jarrod Wilson and Ohio State wide receiver Corey Smith are both Akron, Ohio, natives and attended Akron Buchtel High School. OSU LB Dante Booker, WR Parris Campbell and CB Doran Grant also hail from Akron.

• U-M defensive end Taco Charlton and Ohio State offensive lineman Jacoby Boren are both Pickerington, Ohio, natives and attended Pickerington Central High School.

• U-M tight end Jake Butt and Ohio State offensive lineman Pat Elflein are both Pickerington, Ohio, natives and attended Pickerington North High School.

• Michigan's Joe Bolden and A.J. Williams and Ohio State's Joe Burger, Sam Hubbard and Joe Ramstetter all hail from Cincinnati, Ohio.

• Michigan linebacker Jake Ryan and Ohio State LB Kyle Berger and and CB Nik Sarac attended St. Ignatius High School.

• U-M defensive lineman Willie Henry and Ohio State LB Devan Bogard, QB Cardale Jones, OL Marcelys Jones, CB Marshon Lattimore, S Erick Smith and S Chris Worley attended Glenville High School in Cleveland, Ohio.

• Michigan tight end Keith Heitzman and Ohio State RB Jeffie Johnson are natives of Hillard, Ohio.

• Michigan defensive coordinator Greg Mattison served as co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach under Urban Meyer at Florida from 2005-07.

• Michigan head coach Brady Hoke is a Kettering, Ohio, native and graduated from Fairmont East High School in 1977.

PLAYERS

• Devin Gardner upped his career passing yards to 6,103 to remain fifth among U-M's all-time leaders in the category. He needs 147 yards to tie Denard Robinson (6,250, 2009- 12) for fourth on Michigan's all-time list.

• Gardner is one of only eight Wolverines to post 5,000 career passing yards.

• Dating back to 2012, Devin Funchess has caught at least one pass in 24 straight games, tying Desmond Howard for the ninth longest streak in program history.

• Mason Cole, Jack Miller, Graham Glasgow and Ben Braden have started the last 10 games along the offensive line for Michigan.

• Michigan has held its opponents to fewer than 100 rushing yards in six of 11 games this season

• Brennen Beyer is tied for 14th in the Big Ten in sacks (5.5).

• Beyer has notched at least one sack in three of Michigan's last six games.

• Jake Ryan has notched double-digit tackle performances in five consecutive games.

• Ryan is tied for 1st in the Big Ten with 46 solo tackles during conference games. He is also second in the Big Ten and tied for 28th in the nation in tackles per game with his average of 9.5.

• Ryan leads U-M in tackles (104), solo stops (62) and forced fumbles (two) through 11 games. He also owns 13.0 TFL and 2.0 sacks this season.

• Dennis Norfleet owns the Michigan school record for kickoff-return yardage with 2,124 yards, surpassing Steve Breaston's previous school record of 1,993 yards. Norfleet also holds the program record with 90 career kickoff returns.
