Yep, that vindicates Hoke's booting of Clark ('eggo, Clark was a Rich Clod guy right? If not that just shows Hoke's poor judgement.)

From what I remember (and it was a while ago so don't quote me on it) Clark was being recruited by RR's staff. I'm pretty sure he was on their radar as a TE.

Then RR got fired and Hoke immediately picked up where the RR staff left off. IIRC Clark was one of the first recruits that Hoke visited or hosted on a visit (I just don't remember those exact details).

I do know that Hoke had a pretty good relationship with Glenville from the time he was at Ball St. I read an article a long time ago that Hoke used to pluck the 2* and 3* talent out of there to play at Ball St. I remember that because I thought it could pay off at MICHIGAN if he were to pull 4* talent.

So basically the answer is RR and Hoke both recruited Clark. Clark just happened to sign his LOI right after Hoke was hired. If I can find an article that talks a bit about it I'll post it.
