What will be the most important game of 2012 and why?

I think the most important game will be at Nebraska. I see us getting over the hump and beating Sparty. That leaves Nebraska as our one true road block to the B1G championship game.

No brainer. The Spartan run has to end. Normalcy must be restored.

I still sa6y Its tO$U game becuase of the national hype and the recruiting of Ohio based players.

I say Alabama....

Just because it could prove to be the most significant game when it's all said and done. If we go into Dallas and get our asses kicked, will our boys respond the rest of the season.

If we go into Dallas and come out victorious, what heights could that win propel our team to in 2012?

I just think that game is going to set the tone of our season, be it good, bad or mediocre.

[but yes, we MUST beat Sparty this year. And let's continue the streak over ND. Also, we gotta put urban at 0-1 after year 1].

I am going with Bama. The reason being is win or lose this game should have our boys attention for the entire off-season. I hope every rep in the weight room, every sprint and every drill they are thinking about Bama for the next 6+ months. This should have them as prepared for a season as they can be. I just think there is a different approach and a bigger sense of urgency to the season when the first game is Alabama and not Akron.

If we win this game it puts us at the top of the polls and in the drivers seat for the BCS Championship game.

A loss would suck but I still think this teams preparation for this game will pay dividends the entire season.

Do I like? Hell no lol. But as you said, it could prove to pay huge dividends as the season rolls on.

I am already seeing signs of guys being focused on the game. Pee Wee was asking his followers last night who will be playing center for Bama next year. Said he was trying to get an early jump on the game.

Unfortunately that wasn't an option even though that would be the obvious choice. Not sure that I could handle a *gasp* 5th-straight loss *gasp* to sparty. So that was of course my choice.

'Bama sets the stage for the whole season, and is definitely the best team we will face in the regular season.

State may be the biggest "shut 'em up" game for bragging rights, but I don't see it as that tough in the Big House.
