OT: Mike Valenti & 97.1 vs The Detroit Lions

Say what you want about Valenti, yea he can be an a-hole at times, I like 97.1 & CBS stood behind him today.

If true, everything I've read says it is, Lions wanted Valenti fired as part of any new pact between the team and the station.

Per detroitnews.com: Valenti co-hosts one of the top-rated sports-talk shows in the country, and is the paramount reason 97.1 consistently appears No. 1 in weekily rating books in Metro Detroit.

Listening to parts of 97.1 today, the Lions would regularly call & complain, especially what Valenti had to say.

Dear Mrs. Ford and the Detroit LIons: we are not North Korea, can't censor what radio personalites or fans have to say about your team.

I've only heard of him on MLive forum. Never heard him on the radio.
