Widely reported at this point.

Good for him. well earned. Also, as Brian at MGoBlog just tweeted, a lot easier to watch your DC go after he just got plugged for 350 yards on the ground.

Throw in that we were dead last in turnovers and I am almost happy about this.

Ok, this explains why Mattison stayed on as D-line coach (a demotion from DC). It all makes sense now. Now Coach Harbaugh doesn't have to hire the best guy available, he can wait until the right guy comes.

not making excuses, just thinking objectively. injuries and personnel were a part that 350 yards. I think the outcome would have been different had we been healthy. and I think the outcome will be different when we have the talent at LB.

there is no excuse for the turnovers though. we have to do better in that department.

I'm just wondering what guys like marshall and kemp are thinking right now. They are the ideal guys for Durkin's BUCK position. going to be interesting to see how they are utilized moving forward.

scheme was a part too ... no way you play a 3-3-5 ... it was laughed at , and rightly so with RR and now all of a sudden it is all right ? ... you load the box and force Barrett to beat you with his arm ... Durkin is a very good DC but he was schooled by Meyer on Saturday

Oh boy, could that mean a potential Gary "flip" (it's diificult to "flip" a recruit when they ren't even committed)? That would be closer to home for Gary so his Mom could come see him play and if Partridge goes over there....

OK, I'm becomming concerned.

DJ not coaching bowl game, but that's to be expected. It's just a bowl, not the NC or playoff game.

Do you thing Greg will be named DC or do you see Jim going another way outside of the program? I feel he will go outside but I have nothing to go on except my gut.

Go Blue!! Smile

My guess is outside the program, or Jackson. He seems to have paid his dues and my be ready to run the defense.

exactly this.

swing for the fences. try to get a Fangio or Pruitt. if that doesn't work then I think Jackson is ready. who knows how long mattison is going to keep coaching.

Not sure where to put this, but Scott Shafer to Maryland as DC. That was a good move IMO.

I think all signs are pointing west for MICHIGAN's next DC. how far west is the question.

I saw somewhere, it may have been here, that Lance Anderson (Stanford DC) was rumored. Of course we'd have to wait until the new year to find out.

Makes sense. He was with Harbaugh at San Diego and Stanford.

I agree on Lance Anderson. That was what I was the point I was trying to make saying "go west". Fangio is a pipe dream at this point but Anderson would make sense.

does anyone know what schemes he likes to play?

I really loved watching Durkin's man coverage this year. I hope to see more of that from the DBs in the future.
