I'm thrilled about the McCray thing this week, but if a kid like EJ or O'Daniel wants to come here, we give them a scholly, regardless if our coaches are planning to take in 2 at LB.
Looking forward, after this season, we're looking at Ryan, Morgan, Beyer, Ringer, RJS, Bolden....(I'm sure I'm missing one or two, but nobody significant, I don't think)
I saw good things out of Morgan, but I think any one of these studs could come in and supplant him...same with Beyer. I've never been convinced RJS will be a full-time starter any time soon, if ever. I don't know enough about Ringer to judge. Ryan is an unorthodox LB who gets the job done...he'll be a player over the next couple of years. Bolden will be our #1 by 2013, book it.
All that said, kids like Levenberry and O'Daniel could come in and take over by '14. Imagine having the ability to run a 3-4, with O'Daniel, Levenberry, Bolden and Ryan/McCray, with PeeWee clogging up the middle at NT. Add a couple big, quick bodies at DE, and now you're talking. (Or stick with the 4-3, and have even more depth...whichever...I think in the end you play with the formation that allows you to get the most playmakers on the field, possibly switching it up depending on the opponent's offensive style if needed.)
