I've seen a fair number of these over the years. The man is always at a disadvantage in these almost evidence-free cases. I wonder, what made the prosecutor think this story would fly? Maybe it's just office policy to charge and let a jury sort it out. If so, that's bullshit.

My guess is that the woman was adamant about pursuing it. The prosecution has no choice but to pursue charges in that case. Sure some women trump up charges, but others do not. That's why.

That's not true, the prosecution always has discretion on whether or not to pursue a case.

Oh no denial there but how would that look if they said no. That's all I'm saying.

It would look like they were doing their job to review allegations in police reports and shoot down warrant requests that lack factual basis.

You can't put that on police, they do not have the qualifications to make that call. If they did they would not b police officers, they'd be judges....

If there is a reasonable belief that a crime was committed then yes they issue a warrant. A judge has to sign off on that too. A trial is what matters here and that's why they take so long, they look at everything in a trial.

I'm not putting anything on the police, and 'shoes is right. But, I only have 30 years experience so...

I'll be watching to see how Roger Goodell handles this. JL had his day in court but Elliot never made it that far yet RG is threatening suspension. The tricky part is that this all happened when neither of them were even in the league.

Side note: Gareon Conley is watching this all closely. And yes I am still bitter at the Conley flip.
