I don't think we are holding anything back to avoid showing plays. The last 2 games were too close, too late, for that to be logical. I do think we have limited play calling because of either the inexperience of our players or our lack of confidence in them or the QB.
In some cases, plays have been open but Wilton hasn't seen them. I also think we aren't seeing more crossing routes called because of a lack of confidence in Wilton's accuracy. Those plays work beautifully when the timing is there. They are an interception waiting to happen, when it isn't. Let's go back to the first pick 6 against Fla. Most are putting that on the receiver and I agree, he should have had it. However it was just a little behind and just a little high. As much as JH has stood up for Wilton- and he has, he did find fault with that throw publicly. The point is though, that unlike a fade or an out a little miss on those is far more risky.
The offense has a number of issues, but the biggest is that the QB is not accurate enough, often enough.
