| Future looking up! Speaking of big, how is Presbyterian a DI school? My daughter's undergrad, Alma College, has about 1300 students and is bigger. | |

| One thing is you have to offer a certain amount of athletic teams. Men/Women I think most schools have 9/9 or 10/10 or 11/11. You can't be division 1 offering 5/5 or 7/7. At least this is how I remember it from my youth. _________________ "What the HELL's going on out here?"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presbyterian_College They are D-1 but not a large D-1 school. FCS in football and its athletics appear to be EXACTLY what student-athletes are supposed to be. It is much more noticeable for a school to be D-1aa vs. D-1a in football because the teams are so large. However bouncyball teams are small, even smaller than hockey teams. The smaller schools can actually compete with the larger schools (normally, not in the case as we saw) in bouncyball and hockey if they are good. For instance there is a Community College size school in Colorado (Colorado College) that is D-3 in all sports EXCEPT hockey where it is D-1. It isn't exactly a predominant powerhouse but it is good. They have 2 National Championships and multiple Frozen Four appearances. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado_College _________________ 'eggo denoted me a First ballot Hall of Famer! - sandyeggo_blue wrote:
