Urban Meyer

Just want to throw this out there and see what people think.


How would you feel if Michigan let Harbaugh go and hired Urban Meyer?


Before you answer I'd like to remind you of a few key points.


1. What seems like forever ago (back in his Florida days) Urban said he'd only ever coach at three other universities. O$U, Notre Dame and Michigan.
2. He wins.
3. He knows midwest and national recruiting.
4. UM has been built as a spread team. UM fans are stuck with it for a few years. Urban knows spread.
5. He brings the instant "IT" factor.


Just food for thought.

Tough call for me. I think he is the best college coach of the last 60 years ( Have him just above Saban), so he is an upgrade over pretty much any other coach. However, I don't think he would go into a position where he would coach against OSU after having been there (as opposed to him coming here straight from Utah or Florida.

I just wonder if Michigan restriction on recruits would be a draw back

I'd like to say No but....

My thoughts: I love the idea and I'm always open to thinking outside of the box. However, I doubt he'd come to AA after establishing a legacy at O$U. Also, while I think he'd be an improvement over Harbaugh, I bet he's reached his peak.

I am torn from sticking w/Harbaugh or moving on. Who else would we get? A no-name up-and-comer would be great, but picking the right one is a crap shoot.
