He will address the departures from the football team. We knew about Stonum and Bell already. We may have a couple of more. Some say Mike Cox is gone. Any guess on the others?

There's been some speculation about Jerald Robinson as well.

Here's a list of RS SR on the team that have seen little to no playing time. it's a good place to start speculation

Steve Wilson - QB
Jack Kennedy - QB
Jordan Barpal - WR
Alex Schwab - DT
George Morales - LS
Mike Kwiatkowski - TE
Paul Gyarmati - LB

Interesting. It probably is time to thin the heard a bit. I could see more departures where we have a lot of depth. RB and LB seem like the most likely areas. Mike Cox seems like a good candidate. Some other names I will throw out:

Justice Hayes-He just does not seem like he is in the mix at all. No room at RB and with the guys they are targeting for next year, I just do not see an opportunity for him.
Mike Jones-Has he played at all? He is a Florida kid. Could move closer to home.


Maybe a kicker. I was looking the roster and am wondering how many kickers go you really need?
TE-We have several listed on the roster and yet we are looking to add 2-3 for 2013. I am wondering if some of the others are not panning out. Send them packing.

This is all speculation at this point. Sometimes it is fun to speculate.

Not to mention the position switch article listed 2 guys moving to TE.

According to Hoke and Hecklinski, JRob was a star on the scout team. They expect him to provide immediate depth at the slot. Roundtree is moving back outside and Ricardo Miller will push B Moore for the starting spot at TE.

I remember him saying that about JRob.

Good point but I can actually explain the probable cause. Remember when Michigan couldn't make a friggin'extra point? Rich Clod even help student body try-outs. My guess is shots were given to those who looked like they could kick. Those kickers were never escorted off the team after Gibbons' finally remembered how to kick last year. Therefore, maybe your speculation about trimming the fat a little is correct. Of course we do have seperate kickers for punting, field goals, and kick-offs. Plus you need back-ups in case someone gets hurt.
