| Team will be much better with Devin as the QB if you ask. I do hope they have a few opportunities to get Shane some meaningful snaps this year though.

| For all those that wanted to get back to "Pro-Style" Morris is the man. My basic question is this...does Devin Gardner have a chance to play QB in the NFL? I think not and if that is the case, why not move him to WR and get the guy everyone seems to want anyway (at least the Mich fans I talk to). I know how hard he works and tries but he...like Denard might just have been better off at another position. It was hard to tell with the line last year but there will be angry fans going into this year. Read the replies after the article. I wish him luck though. |

I don't know why he wouldn't have a chance. The guy's skill set is amazing, he just needs some polishing and decent coaching. I don't buy the comparison with Denard at all. 'shoes

Except that he does have a chance to play QB in the NFL. He's 6'4", strong arm and has all the tools. Will he play in the NFL? I don't know, but he does have a chance. Anyone who thinks the team is better with hi at WR is not smart enough about football to take seriously. Absolutely no comparison to Denard.

| He needs some polishing and decent coaching...he's in his 5th year!
And when he was at WR he did quite well. I didn't say the team is better with him at WR, it is a career choice he needs to make for the next level. No comparison to Denard is nuts.
Having all the tools means you need to be accurate, not just strong arm. He's still not able to step up in the pocket.
The comparison to Denard, why it was lost I'm not sure, is that if Denard would have played another position at Mich, rather than QB, he would have been more prepared for the NFL, which will never consider him at QB unless they run some kind of spread.
Like I said, I hope (since it looks like he may be the starter) that he (DG) totally turns it around and has a great year. My opinion is based on what I've seen up to this point. |

| Bleacher Report wrote a great article titled "Michigan Football: Why Devin Gardner Needs to Move Back To Wide Receiver", dated Jan 23, 2014. Goggle it...it's a good read. And AGAIN...if he is the QB, I'll be the first to hope he has a great year. |

| my take: Anything can happen in a single year, especially with new coaching.
Devin's biggest weakness is standing in the pocket, but with that said, can anyone really blame him after last year's most abysmal OL in UM history??
He needs to get comfortable in the pocket again, and he needs to get his confidence up. So with that said, it all starts with the OL. He's going to need them to protect him. I like Morris' ceiling, but if he got his ass kicked all year like Devin did, he or any QB would be horrible in the pocket too.
