NCAA Tourney

Michigan plays in West bracket, first at Wichita then to LA if they win.
Sparty plays in Midwest bracket, first in DETROIT then to Omaha if they win.

Both are 3 seeds.

We beat them 2 out of 2, winning the BT tournament.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Whatever,  I guess playing better than your opponents means getting sent further away.

Just use the perceived slights as motivation.

Think we got a more favorable bracket though. We'll see if it plays out that way.

After looking over it again (and being sober   ) I would agree with you but, according to Ken Pom, Michigan has the hardest path to the sweet 16 of any 3 seed in the tournament.

This may not be as easy as it looks.

UNC as the 2 and Gonzaga as the 4 are not easy games.  Houston is also tough.  I like UM's chances of getting out of the first weekend, but after that, who knows.  Also a chance for a rematch with OSU if they get to the Elite 8.

I thought, too about that (OSU rematch), Fish---but seriously doubt it comes to pass.

I don't see them getting by Gonzaga.  While at this stage the 'Zags' pounding of OSU last November means NOTHING, the Buckeyes themselves didn't exactly set the court on fire down the stretch either.  Whipped at PSU, then pretty handily lost rematch with us at our place, and most recently, beaten by the NIT-tany Lions in the B1G tournament. All within the span of the last 3 weeks of the season...

As for the team we care about, I expect a comfy romp over Montana, but Houston---OR SDSU---will be considerably more challenging. Houston has some real athletes, and SDSU (coached by our former assistant Brian Dutcher) BEAT the Cougars during the regular season.

It is SO comforting to know that, when our threes aren't falling and offensive rebounds aren't coming our way, we now (for the first time in forever) have an excellent DEFENSE to fall back on...

I didn't say it was easy- just that I think it might be better than MSU's path (at least for MSU).

From everything I hear on TV, the radio and the internet msu is still the favorite.

Guess that means we are the only team in the country that can beat them.

I read yesterday that Michigan actually has the second highest KenPom rating in the bracket behind UNC.

UM - 10
Xav - 14


I think UM got a great bracket. Sure the winner of Houston/SDSU is going to be a tough game but I think UM will get past them. I think UM will also get past UNC and play and beat Gonazga for a spot in the Final Four.

Every game is going to be a tough game from here on out.

I fully expect Thursday's game to be ugly as fuck. It's not just the layoff I just don't think our intensity will equal the last 2 games. It's going to be hard to match that for an opening game. The Griz will be sky high.

We should win and wake up for the second round.
