Thank you Jimmy while you were here, but not sorry to see you go, me being an older gentlemen, do not want to see a long rebuilding tenure , but Jimmy brings way to much drama and instability to the team. Hope Michigan find a guy thats good with recruiting and happy just to be a college coach. Michgan is a good destination, and has showed if you perform, they will pay.

So much for this being his dream job. He's got a huge offer sitting on his desk and he's running to a pro team that is $15m over salary cap; 3rd worst in the NFL.
I just cannot understand why he's so anxious to get out. All this tough talk over the years and he's basically full of shit.
Thanks for trying I guess.

My take is that a huge rift began with Warde over last years pay cut ! Harbaugh has a huge ego and being embarrassed like that has left a bad taste in his mouth .

I just hope that in 2031 we aren’t saying: when did we last beat OSU? Oh yeh, in Harbaugh’ last year.

actually he is probably looking at the fact it is easier to win a super bowl than a national Championship. All he has to do is beat the Lions 2X the Bear2X and Green bay and he is in the playoffs. With all the shit that goes on in College football and with The NCAA its damn near impossible unless you an Alabama or OSU to get there and only 4 teams.

looks like jimmy coming home for 1 more year and the saga continues. Question being after going through all this is he still going to be the popular choice with the fans, the recruits and the powers to be. Its never been about his ability its always been about his allegiance to Michigan, as Bo once said we want a coach to coach Michigan not a coach who wants to be some where else./ Iff Bo was the AD he would have had somebody in place after Jimmy left the 1st time

Jim Harbaugh told Warde Manuel that this would not be a re-occurring issue and he would stay at Michigan as long as it wants him, per sources.

that sounds like something harbaugh would say. He's given me no reason to NOT take him at his word.

My brother-in-law and I were talking today and we were just thinking out loud but we wondered if, prior to Jim interviewing with the NFL, he had a conversation with warde and laid out some stipulations in order for him to come back.
Did he ask for a donor pool for NIL? Did he ask for eased restrictions regarding the transfer portal? Did he ask for academic leniency for recruits?
I think he could very well have made the case that he's getting out-recruited and the university's policies aren't doing him any favors. see the georgia game.
I had to remind my brother-in-law that harbaugh seemed to be damn proud of the academic milestones that his players have hit since he returned so I personally would assume that academic leniency was not on the table but we were both just talking out loud.

apparently a few coache's aint to happy with this situation, not hay not being in the loop. and figuring ole Jim Boy was good as gone and figuring on moving up a notch. Gadis was head coach, and up in up and up. Now its back to where they are, and still no communication.

I have not seen nor heard that from anywhere. I mean Mike Elston came knowing full well where he would be. I have not seen anywhere that Gaddis is upset.
Also, I knew he was interviewing at Minnesota. You knew it. Everyone knew it. What other communication should he give them? He told everyone what he was doing when he did it. Now people are pissed about it. Apparently they would rather he skulk around behind the scenes. The guy can not win.
So, send me some links.

So I just listened to this mornings show on WTKA. The report is that the players are 100% ecstatic that he is coming back. They could be wrong but they really rarely are.
No one has talked to staff yet.

keep reading different articles from so many arae. 1 says that all the job offers originated from Harbaugh camp, another one says that Minnesota was ready to make him the net head coach and Jim changed his mind. another read about what i said previously, at any rate they describe Harbaugh as a quirky hard to figure individual, or Drama queen as someone said. hard to put a finger on him for sure MSN has had a lurp on him every day since the play off.

Just weird about the whole Minnesota job offer out of the blue …. all day interview seems the job is his if offered ! Oh well as long as this drama doesn’t happen every year … and I doubt signing a long term deal at Michigan prevents NFL teams making offers every year .

Ok well there is the problem. You read all that crap. I am not picking on you but anyone that read everything that was written about this has probably lost many millions of brain cells.
Keep remembering what I told you from the start, the only ones talking about the situation had no clue what was going on with the situation. Hell, I could have written 90% of those articles myself. I have just as much info as these hacks had. Do not allow no talent hack reporters to give you your major information.

I typically get most of my info from the same handful of sources. Each source with a different area of specialty.
I have trusted Bacon for most things happening in Schembechler Hall and Bacon said he thought it was as done of a deal as you could get.
The speculation is that something happened in Minnesota. Did something happen in the interview? Did something happen on the plane ride there or back? Did something happen in Minnesota's front office? Did something happen with Warde at UM? I'll be waiting to learn these things.
In the mean time, I am hearing (from writers that I trust) that the interview went sideways. What does that mean? I can't say because the writers aren't saying, but from what I've heard is that Jim went to Minnesota with the understanding that the job was going to be offered and the mindset that he was going to accept. Almost as if the interview was just a formality and it was a done deal until it wasn't.
I'm happy to have him back. I'm anxious to hear what the staff reaction is, particularly Gattis. I'm ecstatic to hear that the players are happy because I hadn't heard that yet.
I'm just going to wait and see how the next few days play out.
One thing I can say is that although the defense will take a big hit next year with talent departure, the offense should easily be the best offense Jim has ever had and I know I'm probably getting ahead of myself but I'm looking ahead and I'm trying to find reasons why this won't be the most explosive offense I've ever seen from Michigan. I think this offense is absolutely loaded with playmakers and I think this team has the talent to score 40+ a game. I don't think that's homer talk either. So keeping Gattis is a must.

it's from Isaiah Hole. I don't know if any of you remember him from his contributions to 247. He has always been pretty plugged into the university and the programs but I don't know where he got his info from but it basically mirrors what I've heard with quite a bit more detail.

The only real question I have is if Minnesota had that other guy already planned. They reportedly hired him fairly quickly after Jim left.
I also heard he thought he was going to be offered the job. But I only heard that in 1 place as a side comment. Also comments about his squirrelly reputation.
But all that is just talk. He is back. I am happy
