| OK, I think it's about that time that revisit a question I posed on forum members a few months back...
Do we invite some other fans in, a la CaliMSU?
I have a few in mind that I would personally invite.

| I personally don't have a problem with rival fans on a moderated board. The problem with mlive is that it's basically unmoderated. | |

| I think we need an outside perspective in order for the board to be complete, but yes monitor their actions closely. _________________ 'eggo denoted me a First ballot Hall of Famer! - sandyeggo_blue wrote:

| We had a Penn State fan here for a while who, much like the majority of PSU nation, was making some really lame excuses for JoePa's handling of (or lack thereof) the Sandusky drama. I really wanted to say some things but I kept quiet wanting to keep peace here.
I guess I'm the odd man out on this. I don't care for an outsider perspective. 10 years ago, I liked debating/arguing with them. I don't anymore.

| I voted yes. We need more participation. There are days where the site is dead even during football season. I think adding some other fans would help but they need to be on a short leash. | |

Funny you mention those two...it's WYD who specifically inquired and sparked this post to begin with. I'm thinking folks like NDBacker (if we could ever find him), calimsu and........possibly WYD. But here's the thing. I don't want to invite folks like this if we're going to lose some of the most active posters (Fish and WH). I personally would be willing to sacrifice more traffic and differing opinions to ensure that solid posters like that don't fade away. _________________ "I don't get sick. | I wouldn't leave. I used to think WYD was ok, then I realized he is passive aggressive.

| Since you (Addy) seem to want a non-Australian ballot (not joking; you just want to identify opinions with names) I voted "A". I don't mind objective fans of opposing teams coming and discussing football. Just so, as everyone agrees, they keep it focused and civil. Translation: no AZ's...even though these days he's likely nowhere to be seen. Or heard. (Just smelled). NDbacker, calimsu, NCHawk, et al are fine with me. WYD, well, borderline. Some good stuff, some homerisms. (FTR---one I really wish we could get is Brutus06...though I know he left the other board due to serious personal/family issues, never to return).
As Willie phrased it, a short leash would be needed for some...

| I feel like this board is well established with M fans that are on the same page as far as "trolls" are concerned. While we do have our share of OT posts, it's clearly mostly football here and as long as we can keep it that way I'd be in favor of letting rival fans come and mix it up.
