Another Recruiting point

Sometimes you recruit to your weaknesses and to fill holes. Sometimes you take who you need and not necessarily a player at a different position that is rated higher.

We had to recruit 5-6 Offensive linemen each of the last 2 years because of deficiencies left by RR.

And again I'll say, We're #12 in the country in recruiting. After going 7-6!!!!! If nothing else this has to really piss off other fans!

Maryland had a 7-6 record last year. How's their recruiting doin'?

Yea I would rather fill hole than get people who are not gonna play for 3 years.

The disappointing part of today is Michigan really was stagnant in recruiting the last 4 months or so. Michigan's performance this year really stunted the growth of this years recruiting class. MCDowell and Hand are the results of 7-6. At one time we led for both guys. Now we get to watch them play for other teams and wonder what if?

Hand was the one that bothers me. McDowell, not so much.

They're #12 based on ESPN's rankings. Scout and Rivals, the ones that count, don't even have Michigan in the top 25! Michigan State is in the top 20 on both sites. That is pathetic...

While it may be disappointing to lose out on the two big guys, I think our recruiting class is just fine. We had the two big classes the last two years and this class, if you look at their average rankings, is a good one too. We have more than enough talent. The question is, will we develop it?
