Kalis and Burzynski battling for spot

both still sharing 1st team reps at this point.

Burzynski will probably start, it sounds.

Back issue flared up for Kalis and put him behind.

What was the expectations on Kalis before the injury... had he progressed as we all hoped as a 5 star recruit, had he shown signs of taking the next step??

I think he was definitely expected to earn that starting spot. The injury opened the door for JB.

believe it or not, he actually was starting to look better last year. His last few games were MUCH improved and I remember him looking pretty decent against O$U. Read the section on Kalis in this article and it kind of confirms that.

plus, I had no idea he was playing on a bum ankle last year. I still think that Kalis will be a really really good guard by his senior year. Doesn't help us now though
