Just looked at our class from 05...

and I don't remember 1/2 of those guys. Slocum transferred. McKinley transferred.

The biggest blow was Antonio Bass having the career-ending injury. If he would have been able to play, I think RR's era would have started out much better. And he probably would have had him for 2 years (if Bass would have been able to come back from that injury, he most definitely would have received a medical RS.)

Unfortunately we had 3 or 4 of those types of years in a row.

Doesn't matter if you get the #5 class if only half of them end up being decent. When half are gone 2 years later you didn't do any good.

I guess I'm starting to see the "Lloyd left the cupboard bare' argument. I wouldn't go that far, bc he can't help it kids were hurt/transferred. At the same time, there were a lot of holes after his tenure.

I just kinda glanced through a few years 2004-2008 and looked for familiar names on the lists. The most I found was about 8. There were a couple of years I only counted 4 or 5 that I thought even helped out or started.

Our recruiting was somehow suspect in those mid years.

That's exactly what I had done before my initial post. I started by just looking to see where are class finished in the rankings, but once I figured out I could view the whole class, I took a look. I will say, looking at a couple of those classes, recruiting rankings are very hit and miss (not that any of us didn't already no that).
