I think not. Where did the offense go? The D was back on its heels most of the second half. This is not a top 15 team, based on Saturday performance.

Its really hard to sort all of this out with just 4 weeks of data. We're all suckers for teams that score a lot of points. Amiright? Its a strange year. Lots of teams struggling on offense
Clemson - probably more than just the OLine Oklahoma - I don't know Notre Dame - no running game but finds a way to win. Iowa - young OLine and questionable QB Wisconsin - QB lacking and no big hitter at Tailback Washington - clusterfudge
Florida State is a mess, probably the worst team in the ACC Miami... oh boy another flat year

Numbers and point totals mean nothing.

It does not feel like a top 15 team to me either. However most fans, myself included tend to view our team in a vacuum without considering what other teams are doing or not doing as Hawk points out.

Just so you guys know, sparty is bitchn' a storm because we're ranked ahead of them. They claim that their schedule is harder and they played 2 road games so they deserve to be ahead of us.
Personally I think that we're so "high" simply because we're unbeaten and we're Michigan.

it definitely feels like the Defense of a top 15 team.

I’m starting to come around, a bit, but feel like I’ve seen this movie many times.

We all have but even I am feeling cautiously optimistic. But remember, both Washington and Wisconsin are no where near as good as we thought. This feels extremely odd to say but we'll know more after the sparty game. Who would have thought that sparty would be a measuring stick, of any kind. I am somewhat nervous about Nebraska this weekend though. On paper we should win easily but games aren't played on paper.

Night game on the road against a highly mobile QB. We are just 5 point favorites so no reason to be overly confident for sure.

Very worried about Nebraska, based on performance vs. Rutgers’ mobile QB. We should know soon after Nebraska’s first possession how this game will turn out.

I think Michigan looks really good. I think the undefeated teams not named Alabama and Georgia you can put in a sack and shake it up. UM has a fine offense...that is more than I can say for my Hawkeyes.
Nebraska will give you a rock fight but I think UM is better.

Nebraska hates us. Primarily because of the shared National Championship, they still think they deserved it. On a lesser note we stole Jed Ortmeyer from them. I sense everyone is now frantically googling "Jed Ortmeyer". Believe it or not yes they are bitter about that, even though Nebraska-Lincoln doesn't have a D-1 hockey program. I could see why Nebraska-Omaha is pissed but no idea why Lincoln is pissed about that. That's like if sparty stole one of our recruits from UM-Flint, soooo???

I read a ton of good stats about both teams. On the stat sheet you would think that Michigan would dominate this game but watching the team's games you know that won't be the case. Funny because going into the season I swore to not put much on the eye test this year and to put more emphasis on the stats (which is new for me). I am still running my opinions accordingly but two stats jumped out at me mostly because I can't ever remember being so high in these stats.
1) UM is #1 in the nation on not allowing tackles for loss
2) UM is #2 in the nation on not allowing sacks
To me that translates to sustained drives and clock control and I absolutely live and die by that stat.
on the nebraska side I read an article that cited a stat about them winning games with and without gaining 500 yards.
Over the last 3 years Nebraska is 7-1 when they gain 500 yards but they are 4-14 when they don't.
No F-ing way they get that many yards and that bodes well for UM.
I think this game will turn out like the UW game and Michigan will pull away late. I'm picking UM to cover the 3.5pts.
UM 33 Neb 20
