he was a full go today. I think the three reasons are:

1. He knows this is the year for him to impress the scouts
2. He might be feeling a push from Shane
3. He's healed

all three are a recipe for a successful year for him. a successful year for DG = a successful year for UM.

I think he will benefit significantly from having a true QB coach this year (Nuss).

Good news indeed, Sandy. All three of your reasons sound plausible enough. Here's hoping No.3 is the "most accurate" of them...

Not to play devil's advocate, but you could preface your last phrase with: "A successful year for our OL = a successful year for DG".

Mike, I've always thought that the O-line is the most important position group on the team.

Good run blocking allows you to gain yds running, control the ball and clock, make it easier to pass, and keep the defense off the field. Good pass blocking his needed when you have to pass to come from behind. Average QBs have won NCs (and super bowls) but not average offensive lines.

Could not agree more, Shoes. And let me tell 'ya:  I (like 000's of other M fans, such as you) would have killed to have an average OL (not great, not good, not even above-average) last season. Given even a frickin' modicum of run and pass blocking, instead of operating behind a sieve, think of what Devin and his crew could have done last year?

To that point, I still want an explanation of how they could have made our offense look so effective against Notre Dame, with (supposedly) the two best DL men we'd see all year in Nix and Tuitt, then looked so porous all too often the rest of the way, starting with mighty, fierce, Akron????

ND fans are asking the same question Mike.

Poor position coaching is difficult to overcome.

[quote="dwoody"]Poor position coaching is difficult to overcome.[/quote

and the two games we went up tempo were are two best offensive games (ND, O$U)

we didn't give the defenses time to read and adjust and then try and run the same play anyways. The exception of course was the final play of the O$U game. go figure.
