FWIW Gary picked up another CB to MICHIGAN today. this time from an Ole Miss insider. the only significance there is that he just visited Ole Miss. possibly a post visit interview has the insider thinking it's MICHIGAN.

or maybe he was going to wait until after the Gary visit to make a prediction anyway.

either way, it's always a good thing when competing schools pick MICHIGAN

Ah yes but The Iron Bowl is Saturday, things could still change. I hope not but ya never know.

the recruiting gods are smiling on us. pie young just tweeted a pic of him and desmond howard at the airport. they are on the same plane to michigan. Pie Young is a lock.

he's in my top 5 for the class. he'll be a monster.

dont get confused by his ranking. watch his tape. he is going to be a really good player. as high of a ceiling as the best kids in the class IMO. he is the type of athlete that can change a game at any moment.

I'm having a hard time following you on this. are you saying "meh" to another peppers? because that's just silly. or are you saying, "yes, but is he another peppers?"

the answer to the latter is no. one guy I can kind of compare him to is artavis scott. he was a rercuit I was really high on two years ago. he went to high school with mason cole and former commit george campbell. IMO pie is better at this point. he's a bit taller. faster. runs excellent routes and drops NOTHING.

in only his true soph year, artavis scott is quietly becoming a star at Clemson. so....

UPDATE

sandyeggo_blue wrote:
...Jordan Elliot will drop this weekend. book it! ...

I need to change this. just learned that his mother will not be with him this weekend. I thought she was coming this weekend but got confused. they are however already booked to come back to AA on Dec 11th. so if anything I think he gives a silent to the coaches this weekend and announces with him mother on the 11th.

sandyeggo_blue wrote:
...I do think we could see two commits for the 2016 class this weekenud. I think possibly one from the 2017 class but that is based on a gut feeling. I have no solid information to share on that...

I'm still sticking with this. I think Pie Young drops and replacing jordan elliot on the weekend commit list will be another texas kid. Very Happy

UPDATE 2.0

FWIW it sounds like 247 thinks Elliot IS going to commit this weekend so....

donnie corley gave MSU the cold shoulder. decided to visit MICHIGAN this weekend instead of sparty. I still think he ends up at msu but it's fun to read the threads on the rcmb about it.

just read that 2017 5* OT isiah wilson is NOT visiting. I thought he was but it fell through.

he was my prediction for a 2017 commit.

he did however just tweet that he was bummed he couldn't make it and that MICHIGAN is definitely his leader. it's early, long way to go, etc etc. but it's never a bad thing to lead for a kid like this.

Probably not happy that they're not picking up every 5 star on the board.

I'm quickly converting to the Dark Side, where star rankings don't mean as much.

I know that star-rankings mean very little, don't you recall 'hail and I getting into it aboutthat topic?  sparty has proven that star rankings aren't the be all, end all.  However they are a good indicator of probable success.  But remember that 5-stars do not always dictate All-American status, just as 3-stars do not mean bench warmer.  Hearing all of the talk about this guy and then see that he is a 3-star doesn't get me too excited.  I hope that I'm wrong but until I see him on the field meh....

well I've been talking up pie for quite some time. you should have checked his stars earlier. it should also be noted that because he didn't camp he is considered to be highly underrated.

he's like drake johnson and bryan mone. they didn't camp much and you all know how much I talked them up. we can all agree drake is our best rb when healthy and mone is a beast. trust me when I say pie is the real deal.

Yep, and Le'veon Bell was a 2-star at sparty. Now Bell is the bell-cow RB for Pittsburgh although he's currently on IR. Anyone remember Kevin Grady the 5-star RB out of GR? Yea, that didn't end up too well. It's all a crap-shoot, meh...

don't know much about this garret fishaw. haven't followed or read anything he's put out in the past but a few people on other boards seem to vouch for him

thought I'd post it and let you guys sort it out on your own.

- starting yesterday Muschamp rumors to be UGA DC or USC HC are really heating up. This bodes well for UM and Rashan Gary. Now we just need to keep Durkin.

- Rashan's mother was NOT AT ALL impressed with Ole Miss. particularly their fans flying the rebel flag.

- Elliot not taking any more in home visits per his tweet

- Waiting anxiously to see who UGA hires as HC and OC. IMO, a Nauta commit hinges 100% on that. I say that because I believe he was UGA bound and a complete coaching staff/recruiter flip is the only thing that can change it.

- I've never had a good feeling about Dontavious Jackson before this week but I think UM will get him. He is exactly what they need at LB for next year. IMO, even though they would be true freshman DJAX, BushJr and Jones would shore up our LB problems by the third game next year. You won't be able to convince me otherwise.

- tidbit for the 2017 class but I'll put it here. doing some research on the 2017 Oline targets and I think they is a solid possibility that we could land an Oline that bests this year's class and by a wide margin. I'll try to work on a post for that thread.

I was flipping channels on the car radio and landed on a college football station. They were talking about the problems arising from the firing of Georgia's coach to their recruiting class. This station's so called expert, and I don't know who it was, seemed to think that if the QB Eason leaves and goes somewhere else, that Nauta will go with him. He said that Nauta will go wherever Eason goes.

I'm hoping this guy doesn't know what he is talking about.

Every year you hear about "package deals" and every year they fizzle. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

from what I can tell Nauta and Eason are not a package deal. it has been discussed quite a bit during this recruiting cycle and every time it comes up it is refuted. Georgia being his home (yes he plays at IMG but that is not his home) is the real reason Georgia is in it. not because of Eason.

hearing that Eason might end up at Florida. that would be two studs for them in the class. impressive.
