Phil Steele and the AP

Steele projects each offseason what he thinks the AP's Preseason Top 10 will be (NOT his 10, what he thinks the AP will select).

In the last 3 years, he has pegged 9 of the 10 teams each year.

He thinks the AP will have Michigan at #7 next year.

In the article he says the Wolverines figure to be the favorite to win the B1G this year. I can't believe I'm saying this but that thought hasn't even crossed my mind yet. But the more I look at it the more I think they are.

If UM can get past the tough road games at Cowboy Stadium, at Nebraska and at OSU then I can see UM in the B1G championship game. I think the most important game of the year (as far as placement in the conference) will be at Nebraska.

Well the game in Cowboy stadium has no effect on our chances to get to Indy, but I know what you mean.

We've just got to win our division; which is VERYYYY doable. Nebraska is our only threat to that, in my opinion, because State just won't be there this year. I really think Maxwell struggles this year, and I say that without bias.

When you break it down, I love the division we landed in. Definitely the easier side of the two, IMHO.

I can easily see us winning all our B1G games except the one in Lincoln. So we'll be sitting on the outside looking in, and we watch Nebraska crumble down the stretch again, getting us to Indy.

That is a very real possibility....I need to check out their schedule to see how they end the season.

I will say this, going forward, I do NOT like them before the Ohio game at all. (not sure where they fall this coming season)
